When I discovered my love for nutrition in college, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a sports dietitian. Though it wasn't a very popular career in the late 90's, something inside me knew that this path was meant for me. I began my journey in the field of nutrition, working various jobs while simultaneously building my first dream job—my private practice—on the side. In my practice, I worked with athletes of all levels as well as clients struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating, and I absolutely loved it. I had the opportunity to consult one day a week at the University of Texas (UT) Athletics, where I further honed my expertise in sports nutrition. Ultimately, I achieved my second dream job as the Assistant Athletics Director for Performance Nutrition at UT, a position I've held since 2012. Here, I collaborate with some of the most talented athletes, coaches, and staff in the country, and I am continually challenged to excel in my work.
My side-hustle, Amy Culp Nutrition, allows me to leverage my experience and passion for nutrition counseling to serve an even broader audience while I pursue my dream job at UT. I am truly grateful for this opportunity.
I live in a suburb of Austin with my husband (Yancy), our two beautiful children (Lily & Scout), and our furry friends (Sammy & Jackie). I make it to the beach whenever I can. My ideal weekend includes working out and enjoying a meal and conversation around the table with loved ones. Cheers!
